Comedy Night Fundraiser featuring Vic DiBitetto – Gift Raffle Item Donors

January 29, 2017 – Jersey Shore PFLAG would like to thank all the generous businesses and individuals who donated items to be raffled off in the gift raffle during our Comedy Night Fundraiser. We encourage everyone to patronize their businesses, listed below. The board would also like to thank our headlining comedian, Vic DiBitetto, his opening act, Joe Fernandes, and our host venue for the evening, Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club. We are grateful for all your support.

Teri and Percy Keynton donated a Kiehl’s cosmetics basket filled with an assortment of luxury skin, hair, and body care products for women and men.

Seth Rainess donated a Kiehl’s cosmetics basket filled with an assortment of luxury skin, hair, and body care products for women and men.

Steven Von Steenburg donated a pet water fountain with a built-in filter.

The Placek family donated a collection of kitchen supplies including saute pans, mixing bowls, and Pyrex baking dishes.

TGI Friday’s in Freehold donated $100 in gift cards.

2016 Jersey Pride Parade and Festival Sponsors

Jersey Shore PFLAG’s participation in this year’s Jersey Pride parade and festival in Asbury Park was sponsored by several local businesses who gave us generous donations. Their support allowed us to have our table fully stocked with informative literature about our PFLAG chapter and LGBT topics, a fully decorated parade float that was seen by thousands along the parade route, and promotional items we gave out to help spread the word about what we do. 2014 Annual Holiday Party Donations and Supporters

January 2, 2015 – We are so grateful to all the local businesses and individuals who generously donated food and decorations for our 2014 annual holiday party and 10 year anniversary celebration! We encourage our PFLAG family to patronize the restaurants and businesses that helped make our party such a huge success! Thank you to all of you!

San Marzano Trattoria in Freehold donated a tray of meatballs, a tray of baked ziti, a tray of sauteed vegetables, and a tray of chicken francaise.

Pagano’s UVA in Bradley Beach donated a tray of eggplant parmigiana and a tray of penne vodka.

Frankie Fed’s in Freehold donated a tray of sausage and peppers and a tray of penne with broccoli and mushrooms in garlic and oil.

Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park donated four trays of chicken murphy.

Stella Marina in Asbury Park donated a tray of pasta primavera and a tray of pasta bolognese.

Q Spot in Ocean Grove donated two spiral hams and a tray of grilled vegetables.

Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing donated a tray of turkey croquettes and a tray of vegetable spring rolls.

Several of our members also donated food including gluten-free pasta, salad and bread, baked ziti, tortellini with pesto sauce, chicken parmesan, empanadas, and curry chicken. (We have omitted our members’ names for privacy reasons, but thank them all graciously.)

Rose of Sharon Florist in Tinton Falls donated the beautiful floral centerpieces for the party.

Nicole and Denise Entertainment provided the incredible live music that we all danced along with.

Wells Fargo Community Connections Grant

August 21, 2014 – Jersey Shore PFLAG was awarded a $1,000 grant by Wells Fargo to support our three-pronged mission of support, education, and advocacy for LGBT individuals and their families and friends. The grant was part of Wells Fargo’s Community Connections program, which provides local branch managers the opportunity to make charitable donations to a nonprofit of their choice.

We are very grateful to Wells Fargo for making this significant grant to us. We would also like to thank Dover branch manager Michael Dunn for selecting us to receive it.

Johnson and Johnson’s Care with Pride supports us in Asbury Park Pride

June 1, 2014 – We are proud to be a part of Johnson and Johnson‘s Care with Pride initiative that allows shoppers to redeem specially marked coupons for a variety of JNJ products that will donate $1 to PFLAG. Those donations go to PFLAG National, our parent organization, but our chapter earned $500 for distributing the coupons during the Asbury Park Pride parade and festival.

We are very appreciative of the support Johnson and Johnson gives to PFLAG and the LGBT community in general, and thank them for making this donation to our chapter.

Asbury Park Pride events sponsored by Stoli

June 1, 2014 – Jersey Shore PFLAG’s participation in the Asbury Park Pride parade and festival this year was sponsored by Stoli. They covered all of our costs of marching in the parade, having our vendor booth in the festival, and placing our advertisement in the Jersey Gaze magazine.

We would like to thank Stoli for their sponsorship of us in this year’s Pride events!

“Diamonds Shine Forever” Fundraiser Benefit Dinner

September 14, 2013 – Our chapter was proud to have been selected as the beneficiary of the “Diamonds Shine Forever” fundraiser that was held in honor of a recently deceased gay man. The event, which included dinner, live band, gift auction, and raffle, was held at Johnny Piancone’s Restaurant in Long Branch and generated over $1,100 for our chapter!

We would like to thank Michele Gray and Ron Strollo for planning this event. They both did a fantastic job creating a memorable evening, and we are very glad they chose Jersey Shore PFLAG as the organization they wanted to support. Thank you!

Blue Claws Stadium LGBT Night

August 9, 2013The Lakewood Blue Claws minor league baseball team held their first LGBT night on Friday, August 9th, 2013. Jersey Shore PFLAG was proud to have been asked to participate in the inaugural event, and thankful to receive a batch of discounted tickets to sell as a fundraiser.

Present Laughter play at the Two River Theater

June 4, 2013 – Our chapter was once again honored to receive a block of tickets from the Two River Theater in Red Bank, this time for their production of Noël Coward’s classic Present Laughter. We raised about $900 from the sale of the tickets, all of which went directly toward funding our ongoing mission of supporting, educating, and advocating for the parents, families, and friends of LGBT people.

All of us at Jersey Shore PFLAG would like to extend our warmest thanks to the Two River Theater for their generous donation and ongoing support over the past several years. Please reciprocate that support by attending one of the theater’s great productions. You’re sure to have a great time, and it’s always worthwhile supporting your local performing arts.

No Child… play at the Two River Theater

November 1, 2011The Two River Theater in Red Bank donated 30 tickets to our chapter for a production of the play No Child… in November 2011. Our chapter was able to sell all the tickets to our members, raising about $900 in the process. It was a fantastic night out with great food and a great performance, all while supporting a great cause!

We thank the Two River Theater for their generous contributions to our chapter, not only for donating tickets to this play, but also for the other times they supported us over the years. We encourage everyone to attend a play at the Two River Theater. You won’t be disappointed!

The Maiden’s Prayer play produced by Thirst-e Productions

August 4, 2011Thirst-e Productions held a special showing of their play The Maiden’s Prayer on Thursday, August 4th, 2011, in which all proceeds went directly toward funding Jersey Shore PFLAG. The play was wonderful and well attended, and we were very honored to be the recipient of this donation.

New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus

April 2, 2011 – On April 2nd, 2011, the New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus made a $1,000 donation to Jersey Shore PFLAG at their special concert It Gets Better: A Journey of Courage in Song. The concert was put on to show that “the journey to a full, confident life as an LGBT individual is sometimes difficult, but always possible; sometimes painful, but always worthwhile.” The Trinity Episcopal Church in Asbury Park was packed that evening as the men sung a variety of uplifting songs. We were humbled to receive such a large donation following the performance. Our chapter president, Abby Maisonave, was on hand to accept this generous gift. All of us at Jersey Shore PFLAG would like to thank the NJ Gay Men’s Chorus for supporting us in such a big way!

A Thousand Clowns play at the Two River Theater

February 1, 2011 – We were honored to receive a donation of a number of tickets from the The Two River Theater Company for their February 2011 production of A Thousand Clowns. Our chapter was able to raise a significant amount of money to help offset our expenses and have a great night out in the process!
