Welcome to Jersey Shore PFLAG!
- Do you have a family member who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, intersexed or questioning?
- Do you count them among your friends or co-workers?
- Would you like to develop a better understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity
and/or other GLBTIQ issues? - Are you a GLBTIQ person who needs help with the 'coming out' process or other issues?
- Would you like to offer support to members of the GLBTIQ community and their family and friends?
Jersey Shore PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians And Gays) was formed in 2004 by a group of concerned Ocean County citizens, but is open to anyone who supports our mission. We are a non-profit organization affiliated with the PFLAG national office and over 500 chapters across the country.
Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of GBLTIQ persons, their families and friends through:
SUPPORT, to cope with an adverse society; EDUCATION, to enlighten an ill-informed public;
ADVOCACY, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights
We seek to provide opportunities for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and to act to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
